Marlow - FLOYD RILEY JACOBS, 86, of Marlow, Okla., passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, in Marlow.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Marlow, with the Rev. Arbuary Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery.
Floyd was born Oct. 26, 1921, in Marlow, to Roma Riley and Georgeann Gibson Jacobs.
He graduated from Marlow High School and received his master's degree from Oklahoma State University.
He joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II in the South Pacific.
He lived in Wayne, Frederick and Sterling, and moved back to Marlow in 1993. Floyd married Tommy Louise Stotts on July 4, 1941, in Marlow.
He enjoyed hunting at Thanksgiving with his grandson, Gavin, and going camping with his beloved wife. Floyd was a member of the Lion's Club, Retired FFA Teachers Association and Oklahoma Teachers Association. He had been a 32nd-degree Mason since 1962.
Floyd served as a deacon in his church at Wayne, and when they moved to Marlow, he moved his membership to First Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Jacobs of the home; a daughter, Sherry Logan of Manahawkin, N.J.; a grandson, Gavin Duckworth and wife Templa of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Donny Jacobs of Calliham, Texas; a sister, Mary Adkinson of Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Ross Logan.
Pallbearers will be the Stephens County Combined Honor Guard.
