SHINER: Evelyn Jo Pfuhl, 76, joined her heavenly family, Sunday, October 17, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She passed away at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1945 in Gonzales to Zilmon and Florence (Townsend) Baker.

She went by many names, Jo, Honey, Mama, but Nanny was her favorite. She had a great love for her family, enjoyed sewing, tending to her plants, taking long car rides and enjoying a Dr. Pepper.

Survivors are her husband of 57 years, Roy Pfuhl of Shiner; daughters, Diana Pfuhl of Gonzales, Carolyn Pauler (Clarence) of Shiner, Donna Kuchynka (Kenneth) of Shiner, Katie Murphy (Jerrald) of Austin and Christy Brosch (Damian) of Yoakum; son, Richard Pfuhl of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Chelsea, Alyssa, Logan, Will, Chasity, Ava, Destiny, Anthony, Darian, Dagan and Dayson and 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Hahn, Juanita Iley (Kenneth) and Marie Valenta, all of Gonzales; her beloved fur baby, Rosie.

Preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Pfuhl; brother, Buford Baker.

Funeral Service 2 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home with Brother Jim Herrington officiating. Burial to follow at Shiner Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to help defray funeral costs.
