Ara worked for the City of Bunkie for many years and then retired from the Goodyear Company after 15 years. She then worked with her daughter at Home Medical from 1987 to 2006. She loved fishing with her friends and relative. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Leonard Rachal of Bunkie; her two loving children, Donald Rachal and his wife Dianna of Nashville, Tennessee, and Sandra Rachal Cook of Bunkie; one brother, Farrell Campbell and his wife Dixie of Fishville; sister, Eleanor White of Port Arthur, Texas; her two grandchildren, Courtney Purttle and her husband Jeff, and Colby Cook and girlfriend Cheree; two great grandchildren, Alex and Bailey Purttle; and her close friends Angela and Michael Douzart.
Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie was in charge of the arrangements.
