Alfred graduated from Salem Teikyo University with a bachelor of science in computer service. He was employed by Eagle Systems where he built medical equipment for military hospitals. He was also an amateur radio operator (HAM) where his call sign was W3GED. He was retired from the U.S. Army (SSG E6) where he served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lydia Lee Garrett Heck, 2 sisters, Ellen Pearl and Lillian Grace Marley of PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Alfred "Leroy" Heck and several siblings.
A military graveside service will be held at a later date.
