LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Alva Cobb, 80, of East Laurel Road, London, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at his residence.
Born Sept. 22, 1930, in Laurel County, he was the son of Flem and Amanda White Cobb.
He worked in a sawmill and was a farmer and was a member of Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Wagoner Cobb; children Patricia Cobb, Phoenix, Ariz., Sandy Sexton and husband Brian of Somerset, Christy Robbins and husband Sonny, Jason Cobb and wife Amy, Kelly McMullin and husband Sammie, all of London; siblings Sylvia Bateman, Manchester, Mich., and Nancy Scagga, Webberville, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son Dean Cobb; and three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, at House Rawlings Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne House and Bro. Lonnie Collett officiating. Burial followed in Jackson Cemetery, London, with military honors by the local D.A.V.
Pallbearers were Sonny Robbins, Brian Sexton, Sammie McMullin, Shawn Cobb, Steven Cobb, Coleman Taylor, Edmund Cobb, and Jason Cobb.
