Una Loye Taylor Hatch of Salt Lake City, Utah returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on October 6, 2021 at the age of 78. Loye was born June 12, 1943 in Aurora, Utah, a daughter of Wilford Otto and Ruby Althea Curtis Taylor. She was the youngest of seven children. She was raised in Aurora and graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1961. Following graduation, she moved to Salt Lake City to attend Darrell's College of Beauty.
Loye married Charles Maurice Michelsen on March 1, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland LDS Temple. They were later divorced. They have two daughters, Melanee Loye and Michele Althea.
Loye lived in Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park, California from 1964 to 2001. She worked for State Farm Insurance Company in Rohnert Park and later transferred to Salt Lake City until her retirement in 2004.
Loye married her high school sweetheart, Ross Hatch on December 8, 2000 in Sebastopol, California and moved to Salt Lake City in March of 2001. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple on June 25, 2019.
Loye is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held several positions in the Relief Society, ward and stake Young Women's, and Primary. She loved her Heavenly Father and her greatest joy of her life was her family. She enjoyed her Thursday luncheons with her sisters and niece.
Loye possessed a witty sense of humor and engaged in friendly banter with family and friends throughout her life. She appreciated the finer things of life such as travel and couture.
Loye is survived by her husband Ross, two daughters: Melanee Loye (Dave) Ford, Loomis, California and Michele Althea (Bob) Gonzalez, Sebastopol, California; one granddaughter, Ashley Ford; five grandsons: Brandon Ford, Spencer (Ilea) Ford, Bobby Gonzalez, Derek (Michelle) Gonzalez, Jake Gonzalez, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Varona (LaVar) Roberts, Murray, Carol Daley, Sandy, and one brother, Clifton (Kay) Taylor, Aurora.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Lavern and Boneta and a brother, Bernell.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 12:00 Noon in the Aurora City Cemetery.
Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
