Alice was my grandmother. Married to my grandfather Clarence September 10th 1938. She was the daughter of Lyman and Anna Chapman Cole.

Alice Mae Wandell, 88, of Troy RR 3, passed away Friday, June 19, 1998. She was born in Athens Township, May 30, 1910, the daughter of Lyman U. and Anna R. Chapman Cole. She was a graduate of Athens Area High School. She worked for Blue Swan Mill and worked as a crossing guard for the Athens Area Schools. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Athens and the Athens and Van Etten Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her son, Clarence L. Wandell of Sayre; her stepchildren; Robert L. Wandell of Van Etten, NY, Shirley J. Theetge of Elmira, NY, and Marilyn Vinson of Sylvania; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ina M. Silverstrim of Dushore and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers; John, Edward and Paul Cole; a sister Ella Alexander; and two grandchildren. Friends may call at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South St., Athens, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, with her pastor, the Rev. Paul Barrett, officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, Athens, 701 W Pine St., Athens, Pa. 18810.
