Clarence L. Wandell, 89, of North Elmira St., Sayre, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1988 ay Stringham Personal Care Home, Centerville, Pa. after an extended illness. He was born in Milan on Dec. 4, 1898, the son of William and Harriett Williams Wandell. Mr. Wandell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Athens. He was a member of the Athens Senior Citizens Club; the Valley Coin Club and served on the Athens Auxiliary Police for 15 years. A life-long resident of the Valley, he was employed by Ingersoll-Rand in Athens in the J&L Department for 40 years before retiring in 1963. He is survived by his wife, Alice, at home; two sons: Robert of Van Etten and Clarence Jr of Sayre; two daughters: Mrs. Roy (Shirley) Theetge of Elmira and Mrs. Duane (Marilyn) Vinson of Troy; two brothers, Harry of Athens and Edward of Sayre; four sisters: Julia Benjamin of Elmira; Harriett Davis of Rome; Luella Sullivan of Sayre; and Dorothy Lewis of Allegany, NY; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Friends may call Thursday at the Jenkins Funeral Home, 111 S. Main St., Athens. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church, Athens, with the Rev. Paul Barrett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford County Memorial Park Cemetery, Luthers Mills.
