Lena Bell Grover married Cecil Dewey Jenkins on Armistice Day in 1920. To this marriage three daughters were born. Cecil Jenkins died in accident while stationed in California in 1924.
She later married Teddy Halbert Cooksey, who loves her daughters, their children, and grandchildren as his own.

Graveside services for Lena Lee Cooksey, 90, Tyler, Tex., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, La. The Rev. Jack Cooke will officiate.

Mrs. Cooksey died Saturday, Aug. 10, 1991, at her home after a long illness.

She was born June 10, 1901, in Hiawatha. Mrs. Cooksey moved to Lawrence in 1924 and worked for several years at Weaver's Department Store Inc. She also was a homemaker and a teacher.

Before moving to Tyler, Mrs. Cooksey lived in Shreveport, La., where she was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church.

She married Ted Halbert Cooksey on July 3, 1934, in Lawrence. He died in 1983.

Survivors include two daughters, Helyn Thompson, Tyler, and Nadine Hoppe, Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Gladys Derr, Myrtle Stringer and LaRane Wells, all of Commerce City, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Grover and Mable Bamber, both of Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
