Robert Smalley, the 16 year old son of T.J. Smalley, residing northeast of the city, died on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Death was due to la grippe. The funeral was held yesterday at 2 o'clock from his late residence to the Smalley school house where Rev. Charles Crawford preached the funeral sermon. A large number of friends followed the remains to the old Mitchell Cemetery where interment took place. The Democrat extends its sympathies to the bereaved parents in the taking from their midst of a son in the flush of young manhood.
