A young lady by the name of Timms, aged 17, a resident of Malad Valley committed suicide on the 23rd inst. by taking strychnine.

She and her mother had had an altercation and her mother had struck her with a broom. She then left the house to go to Mr. Geo. Mason's, about a mile distant, and asked for a drink of water.

The symptoms of poison then became manifest. Everything was done for her that could be--she denying that she had taken any.

The strychnine was missing from the home of her parents.

She died at the house of Mr. George Mason and was buried on Sept. 24th.

This was communicated to me by Mr. Matthew Savage.

Yours truly,
Chas. Wright
