Dorothy Lee Schoenthal, age 70, of Jamestown, MO, passed away on October 8, 2021, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. She was born April 30, 1951, in Boonville, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Daniel and Viola (Brizendine) Borts.

She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1969. On May 6, 1972, Dorothy was married to Charles Schoenthal at St. Pauls Evangelical Church in Jamestown. Dorothy worked at McGraw Edison in Jefferson City, Boonville, and Columbia. After her career with McGraw-Edison, Dorothy worked for Shelter Insurance in Columbia. As her family grew, she made the decision to be a stay-at-home mother. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown for many years. She served on the Jamestown C-1 School Board, was a room mother, and a dedicated volunteer. She always had a smiling face, enjoyed visiting with everyone, and took a genuine interest in what they had to share.

Dorothy's number one devotion was to her family. She never missed an activity that her children were involved in. As her health declined, she remained active in her family's daily lives, offering words of encouragement and showing pride in all of her family. She spent countless hours on the phone with friends and family keeping up on their everyday affairs.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charles Schoenthal of the home; her sons, Chris Schoenthal (Jennifer), Bryan Schoenthal, and Nicholas Schoenthal (Teresa); 8 grandchildren, Bradley, Evan, Brayden, Ethan, Tristan, Audrina, Bryce, and Skylar; siblings, Harold Borts of Affton, MO, Elsie Dockins-Timm of Omaha, NE, Gerald Borts of California, Charlene Smith (Uel) of Jefferson City, Larry Borts (Susan) of Jamestown, and Jack Borts (JoAnn) of Fortuna; her brother-in-law, Abe Rohrbach of California; sisters-in-law, Nadine Borts of California, and Ann Muntzel (David) of Boonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
