The son of Samuel & Hannah (Betts) Camp, he married (1) Mary Baldwin in June, 1699 and (2) Agnes Hawkins about 1734.

History of the towns of New Milford and Bridgewater, Conn.1703-1882 by Samuel Orcutt, Hartford, Conn: Case, Lockwoodand Brainard Co., 1882, p. 66 "Samuel Camp of Milford had a home lot laid for him May 13, 1717, east side Poplar St., next north of Paul Welch's and his first forty acres in "Chestnut Land". He came probably in the spring of 1717. A deed stated that he was a mason and he probably did the mason work on the meeting-house erected in New Milford.
p. 69, Dec. 16, 1723 Samuel Camp along with others contributed one acre of land in New Milford to James Hine for him to come and be their smith for a period of 4 years.
