Born March 11, 1927, ~ January 12, 2022 Geneva passed at the ripe old age of 94. Geneva Faye Hobbs (sometimes known as Ge-Ge, Neva, or Begiva to the children in her life) was born at
home in Duncan, OK to Roy and Frieda Sweat. She met her husband Clyde Franklin "Bud" Hobbs in Comanche, OK and they married in Petrolia, TX on
August 28, 1948. Her Lord and Savior took her home to be with him at her home in Hinton, OK. Her daughter Sandra Stepp, her husband James and Doug Arnold, her cousin, were with her as she was escorted to her
eternal home. Up until the last few years, Geneva had always been active in her church where she lived: in Chickasha, Dallas, Garland, Rush Springs and Hinton. She taught children's bible class, Blue Birds, Vacation Bible School and was active in adult bible class. Geneva loved flowers of all types. She was a very serious gardener and florist. For many years, she worked at Garland Flower Shop and after moving back to Oklahoma she worked at Rush Springs Flower Shop. Geneva loved to crochet, to paint ceramics and to paint oil paintings. If you knew Geneva, you know she was a people person. She loved to have visitors anytime. As long as she could, she was always ready to cook up a big dinner for her guests, no matter how many or when they arrived.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Gayle Stepp and her husband, James, of Hinton, OK; her
daughter-in-law Debbie Hobbs of Duncan, OK; her grandchildren Mike Hobbs and his wife June of Rush
Springs, OK, Amanda Hobbs of Duncan, OK, Brandy Teague and her husband Gary of Bridge Creek, OK,
Cassie Rumley and her husband Shane of Duncan, OK and Roy Hobbs of Duncan, OK. Her great
grandchildren include Nathan, Cody, and Baily Hobbs, Summer, Austin and Daniel Chatterton.
Geneva had one great great grandchild, Bryanna Whan. Geneva is survived by dozens of cousins and
nieces and nephew.
