Lois Mae (Cartier) Berner of Green Bay, WI (most recently of Woodbury, MN) passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct 1, 2021, at 92 years of age. Lois was born May 19th, 1929 to Irvin and Anna (Richert) Cartier in Green Bay, WI. She graduated from Green Bay West High School and attended the University of Wisconsin, La Cross. She married Maurice "Moose" Berner on December 27, 1948 and together they built the home where they lived for the entirety of their marriage.
Lois was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Time spent with extended family and friends brought many happy memories. She was a meticulous homemaker and fabulous cook. It was widely accepted that her apple pies were the most delicious ever.
She was employed by the Green Bay Public Schools as an educational aide in elementary, junior and senior high school levels of instruction. She worked for the Green Bay Park and Recreation Department.
After retirement, Lois and Moose were regular participants on many bus tours and trips. They followed both Men's and Woman's UWGB basketball.
Lois loved Green Bay and to claim it as her home was a noteworthy privilege. She was always an ambassador, encouraging anyone she met to be sure to visit.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Maurice "Moose" Berner. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Berner) Baldauf, (David), and grandson, Gregory Baldauf. She was also survived by her son, Dan Berner (Suzanne); grandson, Michael Berner (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Emma and Jack Berner, and grandson, Matthew Berner.
Visitation will be at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 314 Wilson Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7. The Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev.
