Obituary - Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Mary Whiting Raymond, 79 years old, who died Sunday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W.D. Buick of Abbey Road, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Raymond made their home for several years. Mrs. Raymond suffered a stroke early last fall, which had kept her confined to bed until the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Col. and Mrs. Henry Whiting of St. Clair. Colonel Whiting, a graduate of West Point Military Academy, served in both the Civil and Mexican Wars, and was a leading merchant in St. Clair for many years. She was born in St. Clair, and was married June 6, 1877, to A.B. Raymond, son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Raymond, of Norwalk, Conn., and Detroit. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1927. Mr. Raymond was a graduate of the University of Michigan in the class of 1871. Surviving, besides the widower and Mrs. Buick, are two sons, W. Whiting Raymond, of Birmingham, and Henry W. Raymond, of Lapeer; a brother, Will Whiting of Ashville, N.C., the father of Henry Whiting of Birmingham; and by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Davock, the mother of Harlow N. Davock of Birmingham; and Mrs. Robert S. Mason, mother of Albert W. Wasey, Birmingham, and Louis R. Wasey of New York City. She was also the sister of the late Justin R. Whiting, former congressman from the St. Clair district; Frank Whiting of Port Huron, Mrs. James M. Sanborn of San Gabriel, Cal., John Whiting of St. Clair, Henry Whiting, former president of the Diamond Crystal Salt Company, and Miss Hattie Whiting of St. Clair. The services Tuesday were held from Mrs. Buick's home, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Benjamin Jay Bush, of Westminster Church, Detroit, officiated. The pallbearers were James P. Main, and C.M. Carson, of Detroit, Fred Moore of St. Clair, and Harlow N. Davock, Albert W. Wasey and Henry Whiting of Birmingham.

Raymond, died on January 22, 1933 in Birmingham, Oakland, Michigan, of myocarditis and hypertrophy heart as certified by H.B. Moore, M.D., Birmingham, and was buried on January 24, 1933 at Elmwood Cemetery by S.O. Wylie Bello, Undertaker, Birmingham. The informant was Mrs. Wm. D. Buick, 205 Abbey Road.
