Shirley A. Cole, 78, of DeRidder, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in DeRidder, Louisiana. Shirley, the daughter of William Smith Brewer and Jennie Lee Key Brewer was born on May 22, 1943, in San Augustine, Texas.
Funeral Service at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, 2110 Hwy 171, DeRidder with Rev. Keith Jones of Centralia Church of Christ, Centralia, Texas officiating the service. Interment will follow at Smyrna-Cole Cemetery, DeRidder, Louisiana.
Shirley was married to the love of her life Milton Dennis Cole for 37 years before he passed. Her life centered around her family, especially her two daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, growing flowers in her yard, watching birds, especially the hummingbirds at her feeders. She had a heart for helping others and was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeRidder, LA
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kimmie Cole Slatten and husband Jerry Dee Slatten of DeRidder, LA, Kelley Cole Stewart and husband Shad Douglas Stewart of Pitkin, LA; two sisters, Bonnie Berry of Lufkin, TX, Elizabeth Ware of San Augustine, TX; four grandchildren, Shelby Slatten Soltero and husband David Soltero of Orlando, FL, Jordan DeNae Slatten of Little Rock, AR, Mattie Ann Stewart of Tyler, TX, Mason Douglas Stewart of DeRidder, LA; and one great-grandchild, Evelyn Jane Stewart of Benton, LA.
