American professional baseball player. Cloyd signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as a free agent in 1945 as a right handed pitcher. He made his debut in the league on April 23, 1949 where he played until 1954 when he was selected by the Kansas City Athletics in the Rule 5 major league draft. He played for them for 1 season before retiring. His major league win-loss record was 20-23 with a 4.73 ERA and 198 strikeouts.
