She was born September, 17, 1942 in Georgia to the late Hoyt Andrew Stephens and the late Nanie Mae Mulkey Stephens.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Eugene Whitesides; sister, Linda Biggers; son, Tony Whitesides; and daughter, Tonya Ewing.
Mary had a great love for the Lord and enjoyed going to church. She loved spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brothers; W.R. Stephens (Louise), and Rev. Larry Stephens (LaWanna); sisters, Shirley Revels (Leroy), Judy Parker (Dave); children, Tammy Sossamon (Tommy), Terry Whitesides (Dana), and daughter-in-law, Christy Whitesides.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Zack (Taylor), Casey Whitesides, Tera Connors (Nick), Lee Sossamon, Jared Slaton; great-grandchildren, Cruz and Nash Connors, Journey Sossamon, and Brantley Whitesides, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2-3pm at Clover Liberty Pentecostal, 1045 N Main St, Clover, SC 29710. A funeral service will follow at the church at 3pm. Burial will take place following the service at Bethany ARP Church Cemetery, 1454 HWY 161, Clover SC.
