Mrs. Lessie Mullinax Whatley, age 90, of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 1999 in Rome. She was born August 25, 1908 in Forsyth County, Ga. She was a retired Rockmart and Cedartown Goodyear Employee and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Edward Whatley; her parents, Millard M. and Ethie Thornton Mullinax; and one son, Doyle W. Day. She is survived by tow sons, Mr. Charles E. Whatley and Mr. Franklin E. Whatley, both of Cedartown; one brother Mr. Donald Mullinax of Cumming; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Gravitt and Mrs. Faye Gazaway, both of Cumming; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, 1999 at 1 p.m. from the Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Royce Campbell officiating. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
