Mr. Charles E. Whatley, age 64, of Cedartown, passed away Thursday, April 15, 1999. He was born January 2, 1935 in Rockmart. He was retired and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Edward and Lessie Mullinax Whatley, and his son, Perry L. Whatley. He is survived by three sons, Mr. Bruce E. Whatley of Morristown, Tenn., Mr. Edward Lee Whatley and Mr. Dwayne Whatley, both of Virginia; one brother, Mr. Franklin E. Whatley of Cedartown; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m. from the Rose Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Royce Campbell officiating. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
