Loco - Home Going services for Mr. Dwaine "Eddie" Southerland, 76, of Loco are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday Sept. 16, 2021 at the New Hope Baptist Church of Duncan with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at the 4-S Ranch Cemetery in Loco. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Eddie was born on Dec. 25, 1944 at Comanche to the late Mr. J.W. Southerland and Mrs. Ella Lee (Taylor) Southerland. He departed this life Monday Sept. 13, 2021 at his home in Loco.

Eddie was raised as one of 13 children residing in Loco where he attended school. He married the former Ms. Marquieta Burk on Sept. 14, 1963 at the Loco Baptist Church. Eddie began his lifelong oilfield career with L.E. Jones, roughnecking with his father, J.W. at a very early age. This led to him owning and operating Eddie's Well Service and Keta Oil Co. of Loco. Eddie always enjoyed working in the Oil patch especially when it came to operating machinery.

Throughout the years Eddie never missed one of his grandchildren's ballgames or events. He adored all of his grandchildren and loved them immensely. Eddie was a member of the Loco Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his father, J.W. Southerland; mother, Ella Southerland; brother, Ronnie Southerland; sister, Becky Foster; brothers in law, Ralph Stephens and Butch Redwine and sister in law, Liz Southerland.

Survivors include his loving wife Marquieta of the home; sons, Eddie Wayne Southerland and Teddy Southerland, both of Loco; granddaughters, Whitni Sanner and husband Jimmy, Hayeli Pirtle and husband Jeff, Connor Becerra and husband RJ and Teddi Smith and husband Ryder; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Glenda Stephens of Levelland, TX, Joanna Bradshaw and husband Harold of Loco, Jackie Southerland and wife Jesse of Loco, Billy Southerland of Loco, Donna Pierce and husband Larry of Velma, Debbie Redwine of Davis, Carla Eason of Duncan, Cathy Hokit and husband Buddy of Duncan, Bobby Southerland and wife Debbie of Velma and Patty Southerland of Velma; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Casket bearers are Jimmy Sanner, Jeff Pirtle, Ryder Smith, R.J. Becerra, Dusty Presgrove and Toby Presgrove.

Honorary bearers are Kyle Pierce, Jeremy Brown, Jackie Dale Southerland, Joe Don Southerland, Jerry Dean Southerland, Donald Stephens, Jamie Dan Bradshaw, Rodney Eason, Tanner Southerland, Jamie Raines and James Bradshaw.

Family visitation will be held from 5pm to 6pm Wednesday evening at Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
