TOGUS-Leon M. Hayden, a World War II veteran and an Athens resident during the past four years, died Wednesday morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital here after a long illness. He was 45 years old.
Born Oct. 26, 1914 in Brighton, he was the son of Horace and Cindy Tuttle Hayden. Prior to moving to Athens, he had been a Hartland resident during most of his life. He served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Army's 77th Division
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Saturday at the Athens Union Church. Burial will be made in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland.
Friends may call at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Home in Hartland from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
