Mr. Rick Allen Bane, 71, of Seymour, passed away on August 17, 2021, in New Albany.

He was born in 1949 to the late Russell and Betty (Farthing) Bane in Rushville, Indiana.

On June 10, 1972, he married Brenda Sue Borders and she survives. Rick served his country proudly in the United States Navy.

He is also survived by his children, Valerie (Joe) Findley and Bill (Sara) Bane; 4 grandchildren, Lauren Findley, Luke Bane, Jude Bane and Eleanor Bane; brothers, Rusty Bane and David Bane; sister, Sande Land.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents.

He worked for almost forty years as an auditor for the state of Indiana Department of Financials Institutions. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post #89. His interests included watching his grandchildren's activities, golf, and watching sports. He was an avid sports fan and especially liked watching and cheering for Indiana University, the Atlanta Braves, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Voss & Sons Funeral Service from 1-3pm.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Voss & Sons Funeral Service at 3pm.

Memorials may be written to Seymour Youth League Baseball, Red Sky Rescue, or Russell and Betty Bane Family Community Fund.
