Thelma Virginia Powell, 94 of Rarden, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Minford Retirement Center. She was born on March 27, 1927 in Washington Court House to the late Harley Powell and Myrtle Mossbarger Powell. Surviving are two sisters; Jean Holland of Raleigh, North Carolina and Alice (Donald) Hoffer of Rarden; sister in law, Shirley Powell of McDermott and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her siblings; George Powell, Julia Greene, Marjorie Bolton, Margaret Sayre, Dean Powell, Eileen Powell and Leo Powell.

Thelma worked for 24 years at Williams Shoe Factory and later at Parker Hannifin. She spent her life being a caregiver to those around her and in her later years worked at Larry Moore Sporting Goods.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 at Bethel Christian Church with Pastor Larry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
