Edwood Jennings King Sr., 85, of Ash, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center.
He was born in Brunswick County on May 1, 1929, the son of the late James William King and Cecile Ward King. He was preceded in death by three sons, Edwood J. "Jay" King, Mark King and Alex King.
Mr. King was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shallotte.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Marie Hamrick King of the home; two sons, Ernest King and wife, Wendy, of Springfield, Mo., and Forrest King and wife, Suzy of Calabash; a sister, Kathleen Schneeweiss of Ash; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at noon Friday, April 24, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The family received friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
