Ila Belle (Dibble) Hoar passed away on August 28, 2021 at Redbud Estates, Plainville, KS at the age of 93.
Ila Belle was born on the family homestead in Osborne Co, KS, on April 14th, 1928, the last child of Arthur and Euphamie (Brittain) Dibble.
She graduated from Woodston Rural High School in 1946, and then she completed her teaching certification at Fort Hays State College. She taught for two years at country schools, first at Liberty Bell, and then at Valley, just down the road from where she grew up.
On May 9th, 1948, she married Richard Gail Hoar at the Methodist Church in Woodston, KS. Together, they raised 5 daughters. They celebrated 72 years of marriage before Gail's death on May 16th, 2020.
Ila Belle worked for John E. Jones Oil company in Woodston as a bookkeeper. She moved with the company to Stockton until her retirement.
In 1982, she and Gail moved from their home north of Woodston to Stockton, where they lived until moving to the assisted living in Plainville in January 2019.
Ila Belle enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, ceramics and doing embroidery work, which she continued to do up until a week before her death.
Ila Belle was a member of the Woodston United Methodist Church until it's closing in June 2021. She taught Sunday School, helped with the Lord's Acre Sale and the Women's Annual Pheasant Dinner.
She is survived by her daughters Diana Luhman and husband Ray of Colby, KS, Brinda Hahn of Osborne, KS, Anita Conger & Bonita Wagner and husband Tony, Stockton, KS, her sister Edna (Bob) McCall, Osborne, KS. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: David (Jennifer) Morrissey, Karrina (Craig) Brasser, Richard (Michele) Hahn, Rebecca (Mat) McNeal, Kristy (Scott) Nuzum, John (Tina) Conger, Jake Conger (Barb Ard), Jana (Joe) Becker, Scott (Jess) Wagner, and Travis (Betsy) Wagner. Ila Belle was blessed with 25 and 7/9 great grandchildren: Kalyn (Logan) Hower, Dalton & Carter Brasser, Eli, Audrey & Emree Hahn, Ashton, Brayden & Tirion McNeal, Taylor Hahn, Cody, Colter, Jeston, Chase, Kya & Trayven Conger, Missy & DJ Ard, Harper & Hallee Becker (Baby Hadlynn to arrive October 2021), Ayden & Gemma Wagner, McKenna & Kaden Varlack and Perri Wagner.
Ila Belle was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Gail, daughter Valeria Morrissey, 5 brothers, an unnamed infant, Marshall, George, Robert Lee (died at 9 months of age), Dale and Everett Dibble, 3 sisters, Areta Breckenridge, and twin sisters, Louise Brent and Lucille Dibble (died at 9 years of age.)
Graveside services will be held at the Woodston Cemetery, Woodston, KS on Tuesday August 31, 2021, at 10:30 a.m.
