Funeral services for Lavelle McGinnis, 88, of West Plains were held Saturday, Jan. 8 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville with Arvil Hill officiating. Burial was in the Mammoth Cemetery.
Mrs. McGinnis died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at the West Vue Nursing Center in West Plains. She was born Nov. 8, 1911, at Mammoth, the daughter of James and Ollie (Dye) Anderson. On Dec. 19, 1930, she married Ernest McGinnis in Mountain Home, Ark.
She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in West Plains, a homemaker and spent most of her life in the Gainesville area.
Mrs. McGinnis is survived by a son, Juriel McGinnis and wife Reba of West Plains; four grandchildren, Greg McGinnis of Springfield, Chris McGinnis of Clever, Rhonda Maka and Eric McGinnis, both of West Plains; four great-grandchildren, Rachel McGinnis of Springfield, Stephanie McGinnis of Clever, Colin Maka and Derek McGinnis, both of West Plains; a sister, Pearl Carty of Mountain Grove; and two brothers, Doin Anderson of West Plains and Willis Anderson of Gassville, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, Benton Anderson, and two sisters, Lois Joyce and Causby Wheat.
