WAS LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY

Knealy Waymire Passed Away This Morning Following Long Illness

Knealy Waymire age 68 a native of Madison County and a resident of the community his entire life, died at 8 o'clock this morning at his home, 1400 North F Street after an illness of long duration. The deceased was born September 2, 1847 on a farm north of Elwood and few men know the history of this country better than he did. He was married to Sarah Jane Penny when a young man and to the union was born 9 children, all of whom are living as is also Mrs. Waymire. The children are: F.M. Waymire, Otis L Harvey, Lulua Earlywine, Irie Waymire, John Waymire, Edward Waymire, Lee Waymire, Gladys Harvey and Zora Waymire. Two brothers and one sister also survive him. At the outbreak of the the Civil War the deceased enlisted in Co. D of the 146th Indiana Infantry and served for three years with distinction. Following his service he returned here and spent the remainder of his life in the community. He was a member of the Friends Church where he led a good Christian life which endeared him to all who were privileged to know him.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the United Brethern Church, Rev. John High in charge and interment will follow in the city cemetery.

FUNERAL TOMARROW

The funeral of Knealy Waymire who passed away yesterday morning will be held at the United Brethren Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The members of the Grant Army will attend in a body and are asked to meet at the hall at 1 o'clock to form in line before going to the church.

Son of Jacob Elliott Waymire 1822-1862 (son of Jacob Waymire 1781-1857 and Elizabeth Fuller 1788-1824) and Rachel Howard 1821-1887 (dau of John Howard 1781-1856 and Sarah Callaway 1790-1850. Brother of Sarah Ann, Charles, John Wesley, James Monroe, Albert and Rosetta Waymire.
