Funeral services will be held in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel for Mary Bihm, age 60, the former Mary Lavergne, who passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 at 2:33 p.m. at her residence in Opelousas. Interment will be in First Pentecostal Church Cemetery of Bayou Rouge. The Rev. Carl Beard Jr., pastor of Simmesport Pentecostal Church will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Bihm was a native of Leonville and a resident of Palmetto. She was a parishioner of First Pentecostal Church in Bayou Rouge and Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Bunkie.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Willard Bihm of Palmetto; two sons, Barry Bihm and his wife Grace of Opelousas, and Tommy Bihm and his wife Dorothy of Bunkie; five sisters, Ollie Pouciau of Livonia, Sybil Schexnayder and her husband Paul of Bayou Rouge, Suzanne Guilbeau and her husband Onezine of Leonville, Ruby Barron of Leonville, and Marilyn Trahan and her husband Wilson Jr. of Port Barre; ten grandchildren, Sheree Marcotte and her husband William, Haley Levet, Matthew Bihm, Caleb Bihm, Barry Bihm Jr., Hannah Levet, Tiffany Bihm, Tommy Jacob Bihm, Brandon Michael Bihm, and Brittney Michelle Bihm; and one great grandchild, Dylan Marcotte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lavergne and the former Sedonia Darbonne; and one sister, Shirley Beard.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Bihm, Tommy Bihm Jr., Wilson Trahan Jr., Carl Beard Jr., William Marcotte, and Eddie Guilbeau. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Courville and Randy Arnaud.
