At an early age Modest joined Ramzie Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she continued to visit often during the years. Modest graduated from Blakely School in Williamsburg County where she spent her formative years. She was a stellar basketball player and she also played softball.
After marrying her true love, Richard Frazier, they made their home in Charlotte, NC. Modest and Richard made Greenville Memorial AME Zion their church home. Modest was bestowed an honor of Church Mother. She was a faithful Deaconess, Missionary, and used her beautiful voice by singing in numerous choirs at Greenville. Modest worked diligently unto the Lord, serving her church family and community in any way needed. A brief conversation with Modest revealed her love for Christ and she would always share "nuggets" of wisdom. Modest retired after 40+ years of service with Shaw/Armstrong Industries to be a caregiver to her loved ones. Her hobbies included singing, sewing, and cooking. Modest's joy was her family.
Modest was predeceased by her husband, Richard Frazier and her daughter, Patty Lynn Frazier. She was also predeceased by her Mother and Father.
She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her daughters: Gloria Froneberger, Vivian Jones (Ronald); four grandchildren: Wesley Froneberger (Angela), Patricia Froneberger, Regina Jones, Shalla Jones; seven great-grandchildren: Alex Sanders, Bryante' Craig, Alexandrya Froneberger, Diondrae Froneberger, Amari Jones, Elijah Jones, and E'Ziah Jones; three siblings: Ethel Gamble, Rich Bradley, Jr (Mary), and Janie Hill-Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral: Friday, July 23, 2021 at Rockwell AME Zion Church-6101 Rockwell Church Road, Charlotte
