Graveside services for Kenneth "Pat" Ludwig, 85, of Coquille, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens, 94105 Rink Creek Lane, Coquille, where Pat and his wife, Margaret, have been inurned together.
Pat was born April 8, 1919, in Camas, Wash., the youngest of nine children born to Mike and Josephine Ludwig. He died Feb. 27, 2005, in Myrtle Point.
In 1941, Pat married Dorothy Hill and they had four daughters. They later divorced and in 1964, he married Margaret Nott. In 1948, he went to work for Coos Bay Lumber, later known as Georgia-Pacific, where he worked until retirement in 1982.
Pat was a lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. He was an avid musician who loved to sing and play his guitar and the piano. He also was known for getting out on the dance floor and doing the old-fashioned jitterbug.
He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Patsy and Gary Dieu of Coquille, Sharon and Bob Thornton of Renton, Wash., Susie and Bob Moss of Coos Bay, Terri and Art Ellingson of Coquille and Marguerite and Dan Tomlin of Sandy; nephew, Jim Ludwig of Camas; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two very special friends, Punk King and Dave Oldfield.
Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; his parents; three sisters; and five brothers.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Doernbecher Children's Hospital or to the American Heart Association in care of Myrtle Grove Funeral Service, P.O. Box 37, Coquille, OR 97423.
Arrangements are under the direction of Myrtle Grove Funeral Service.
