He was a son of the late James R. and Laura Burns Adkins; was a Staff Sargeant with the U.S. Army 54 Ordnance Ammo Company in Europe during World War II; and was a retired farmer.
Surviving: Three brothers: Arvello Adkins, Ersel Adkins, and Esto Adkins; two sisters: Clellie Stump and Audrey Cooper.
