Cindy Hein-Petzoldt, 66, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Cynthia Ann Hein was born on May 2, 1955 to Graydon and Margaret "Peg" (Newcombe) Hein in Madison, SD. She attended high school in Sioux Falls and would graduate from Washington High School with the Class of 1973.

Cindy was united in marriage to Richard Petzoldt on April 11, 1989 in Sioux Falls, SD.

Cindy worked in the restaurant business and then became office manager for a real estate company.

She went on to attend the University of South Dakota and graduated in 2001 with a degree in social work.

Cindy and Rick enjoyed many trips to Jamaica and getting out in their motorhome for camping excursions with family and friends.

Many people enjoyed her passion for cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Her kitchen skills will be missed.

Some of her greatest pride and joy came from her grandchildren and watching them grow up.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Rick Petzoldt; son, Bill (Carissa) Kemmis, grandchildren, Kyan and Carter; granddaughter, Lyndsay Plucker, and great-grandchild, Nevaeh; mother, Peg Newcombe; sisters, Deb Hein and Cathy Nichols, and brother, Tom (Mary) Hein, all of Sioux Falls.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Graydon; daughter, Bobbi; and parents-in-law, Lenard and Edna Petzoldt.
