A daughter of the late Earl and Mabelle Glenn Crooks, she was a 1941 graduate of Chester High School, Chester, W.Va. On June 9, 1943, she married Carl O. Soisson Jr., in El Centro, Calif. After World War II, they resided in the Georgetown area where she helped run a dairy farm for 23 years. An active member of the Hookstown United Presbyterian Church, she belonged to the Women's Association, sang in the choir, and was an elder and a deacon. She was also an active member of the Hookstown Grange, a 4-H leader for 30 years, a judge of elections for Greene Township, and worked for Knox Personal Care Home as an activity director.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Crooks.
