89, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Port Richey, passed away peacefully on Oct. 29, 2014, at home with his family by his side. Glenn grew up working on a farm in Hookstown, PA, then joined the Army and was stationed in Alaska. After his military service he returned to Hookstown and built houses for 12 years. Then moved to Akron, OH, to start a career with Roadway Express driving tractor trailer for 20 years. Glenn then retired and moved to Florida in 1982 to start his 3rd career working with his brother-in-law, Terry White at B.E.T.-ER MIX until he retired last year at the age of 88. Glenn is survived by his son, Alan Crooks (Nancy); and his two daughters, Susan Mobley (Rick) and Ruth Wassel (Dan); brother-in- law, Terry White; and sister-in- laws, Jeannie White and Betty Crooks; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, & extended family. Glenn was predeceased by his loving wife Gloria of 53 years. Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 4-6 pm, at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home in New Port Richey and Sunday, Nov. 2, at 5 pm, followed by funeral services at 6 pm, at Grace Bible Church on Scot Street in Hudson.
In the 1930 Census, when he was 4, his name was Earl G. Crooks. He was going by Glenn by the 1940 Census.
