Son of Lannie and Inez (Babin) Achord, Sr. He graduated from Dutchtown High School, joined the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan. Upon his return to civilian life, he worked in the oil fields until working for W R Grace until his retirement from Paxon Polymer in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lynne Millet*; brother, Garney; and sister, Nedra Landry. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean LeJeune Achord; daughters, Rebecca Achord Tergliafera (Turk Tergliafera) and Vickie Achord; sons, Lannie Achord, III (Erin Waldman), Jason Achord (Kathleen Elstrott); son-in-law, Ricky Millet; grandchildren, Nathan Millet (Cayla Spano), Ashley Millet Ivy (Joshua), Amanda Achord Richard (Kyle), Jessica Boe Carls (Devin) and Addison Achord; and great-grandchildren, Karma Richard, Mayson Dicharry, Caleb, Zachary and Seth Ivy, Camdyn and Paisley Millet, and Freyja Carls.
