Son of Joseph Walker Snoddy Sr.(1793-1853) and Narcissa Hannah Foster Snoddy. He is not believed to have ever been married or had any offspring.
Served in the Missouri State Guard during the War Between the States. Believed killed at the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern, Arkansas in March of 1862. Many Confederate/Missouri State Guard troops where buried all over northwestern Arkansas during and after many campaigns in the area. Some died in battle, and many died of wounds received days or even weeks later. Many also died of numerous illnesses. They where scattered in two`s and three`s too dozens all over the area. After the war an attempt was made to gather these hero`s and put them together, in one place, where they might be remembered. This Confederate cemetery is one of these places. Most interments are unknown. It is not known at this time whether Joseph Snoddy is actually buried here. No one will probably ever know for sure. To this compilers knowledge there is no marked gravestone for him there. More later as time permits!
