David A Gage disappeared about 1846-1847 in the Bastrop County, Texas area. The year is questionable depending on how one interprets the probate record (case no. 165). In May 1847 the record reads "David Gage died sometime in month of April last without leaving will". That would indicate April 1847 to some, however there is an order in 1846 appointing Alfred Wood administrator with limited powers with that same case number. He was "presumed killed by indians", which was not uncommon for people who disappeared in that area during that time period. To the knowledge of his family and the probate court that handled his estate his body was never located. There is another Find a Grave listing for him in the Gage-Johnson Cemetery in Bastrop County, Texas, however I have researched and been to that cemetery, and found no evidence of his burial there. The earliest known burial in that cemetery is a Johnson who was born and died the same day in 1944, 97 years after David's disappearance. The first known Gage burial in that cemetery was in 1979, 133 years after David disappeared.
David's parents were Rueben Gage and Abigail Burleson Gage

His children, with an unknown mother believed to be a Burleson, were:
A daughter b:abt 1822 Tennessee;
A daughter b:abt 1825 Tennessee;
William Gage ;
Henry Salem Gage b:1829 d:1868(burial location unknown);
Child b:abt 1830:

and with 2nd wife Denisa Ann Harrison FAG# 146382881:
