Benito R Chabarria, Sr. 71, was born August 2, 1950 in Pecos, Tx to Bentura Y. and Isabel R. Chabarria. Benito grew up in Big Spring, Texas, moved to Pecos when he was 15 years old and was a Catholic.

Benito was called to be with the Lord after putting up a good fight against cancer on Thursday, August 5, 2021. He married his wife, Becky Chabarria of 51 years on February 3, 1970. He was drafted to the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1970-1972 and earned the rank of SP4. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device. He worked at Pennzoil Sulphur mine for 28 years. After shutting down, he worked at TYC in Pyote and then worked at RCDC from where he retired. He was a certified welder, enjoyed fishing, was an amazing baseball player and enjoyed to BBQ. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.

Benito was preceded in death by his father, Bentura Y. Chabarria, brother, Juan R. Chabarria, Sr. and son, Benito Chabarria, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Isabel R. Chabarria, his wife, Becky Chabarria, his son, Isaac Chabarria, daughter, Amy M Salgado and husband Omar Salgado all of Pecos, granddaughters Brittany Arenivas of Georgia, Avianna Chabarria, Amayah Salgado and Aubrey Salgado all of Pecos, grandsons, Zachary Arenivas of Seattle, Washington, Omar Salgado Jr and Isai Salgado both of Pecos, great-granddaughters, Narayma and Aubrey both of Georgia, brother, Robert Chabarria (Linda), Jacinto Chabarria (Rosemary), sister, Mary Chabarria, sister-in-law, Belinda Chabarria, brother-in-law, Ray Mora (Maria) all of Pecos, sister-in-law, Janie Martinez (Jimmy), of Odessa and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers include Isaac Chabarria, Michael Chabarria, Lee Chabarria, Robert Chabarria, Jr., Jason Chabarria and Juan Chabarria, Jr.

The family of Benito would like to extend their gratitude to American Home Health nurses, Dr. Orville Cerna, Dr. Rodolfo Martinez, Dr. Saucedo and the Veterans Administration home bound team.

A big thank you to everyone who has provided food, drinks, flowers and especially all the prayers. May God bless each and every one of you.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 11:00-9:00.
Rosary is set for Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 7:00 PM.

Visitation will continue on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 9:00-1:00. Mass will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church.
Burial will follow after mass at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
