Jarrett A. Foster

Jarrett A. Foster, 84, of Spencer, died Wednesday evening in the Roane General Hospital after a short illness.

Foster was born in Roane County, a son of the late Frank and Mary Rebecca Vanverth Foster. He wasa retired farmer and a retired member of the board of directors of the First National Bank, Spencer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Spencer.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. June Mount and Mrs. Betty Atkinson, both of Reedy, and Mrs. Nancy Bennett of Eleanor; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Smith Foster, in 1973 by two brothers.

Services were held Saturday, 1 p.m. at the Vandale Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating and burial was in the Eventide Cemetery.
