Mrs. Carrie A. Foster, 68, of Rt. 1, Spencer, die Tuesday, August 7, in Roane General Hospital following a long illness.

She was born in Roane County April 15, 1905, a daughter of Charles l. and Nancy Alice Jarrett Smith. She was a member of the Beech Grove United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, J. A. Foster [Jarrett Allison Foster whom she married June 1, 1927]; three daughters, Mrs. June Mount, Spencer, Mrs. Lloyd Atkinson, Reedy, and Mrs. Nancy Bennett, Summersville; two sisters, Mrs. Chloie Smith, Palestine, and Mrs. Murril Bush, Belpre, O.; two brothers, Howard L. Smith, Merritt Isle, Fla., and Roy E. Smith, Mineral Wells; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with the Rev. Paul Vineyard and the Rev. Virginia McClanan officiating. Interment was in the Eventide Cemetery.
