Edna Mae Herring – also known as "Sister" to family and friends.
She was born December 20, 1925 and climbed the stairway to Heaven August 9, 2021. She is now dancing in the wind with her true love again (Frank Herring). They married in December 1943 and she lost him in August 2003.
Edna was born in Riverside, California to Thomas and Myrtle (Peyton) Britt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers – Hank, John and Tommy Britt, and sister Ruth Howell.
Edna retired from the State of NM as a school bus driver after approximately 40 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie and husband Leonard Gidney of Roswell, her sons and their wife's, Frank and Char Herring of Mesquite, NM and Boyd and Velma Herring of Sanford, NC., a brother-in-law Duane Howell of Lubbock, Tx and sister-in-law Geneva Britt of Roswell.
Edna took great pride in her grandchildren – Butch Gidney of Midland, Tx; Dee Gidney of Wall, Tx; Jason Herring of Sanford, NC; and Clint Herring of Forth Worth, TX; Niki of Edmond, Ok; Desi of Fort Worth, Tx; Candy Herring (deceased) of Sanford, NC; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed by all.
Edna was a member of Highland Baptist Church, 2001 S. Lea Ave. where a memorial service will be held for all who wish to attend on August 21 at 2 pm.
