Omer was born on August 10, 1937 in rural Delaware County. He was the son of Roy and Addie (Fickle) Baker. Omer proudly served in the United States Navy. He was united to the love of his life Janetta Dick who preceded him in death. Omer was a Deacon at Eucha Holiness Church for over thirty years. He physically helped build the church. He also enjoyed tending to his flower gardens, raising vegetable gardens, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother Jerry Baker. Omer is survived by his two sons: Eugene Baker and his wife Alisa of Jay, Oklahoma and Mark Baker and his wife Nancy of Jay, Oklahoma. He will be dearly missed by his four grandchildren: Kane Baker, Chance Hughes, Jennifer Cruz and Tristan Hughes, two great grandchildren: Ranger and Reid Hughes. Omer is also survived by three sisters: Kathryn Poffen of Bixby, Oklahoma, Christine Cook of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Jean Herman of Lincoln, Kansas.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Eucha Free Holiness Church with Pastor Justin Rogers and Pastor Herbert Scott officiating. Omer will be laid to rest in the Eucha Cemetery.
