Ada married Eugene Moreland in 1903 in Plattsburg, Clinton County, Missouri. They lived for a time in Saint Louis and later outside Ottawa, Kansas at the newly relocated Puterbaugh farm. Officially, they had no children, although it is suspected they gave up one daughter who grew up in St. Louis by the name of Marie Catherine Roth. Ada and Eugene divorced in 1913.
Ada went on as a modiste for Hollywood movies during the Golden Age of Hollywood. She did work from her Hollywood home shop for MGM Studios—among others. Ada is documented as making the women's wardrobe for the 1937 film Lost Horizon. She also did work on films staring Janet Gaynor.
Ada passed away at the Fountain View Convalescent Hospital, Los Angeles in 1974 at the age of 90 years.
