Lafayette "Smooth" Donaldson - MSGT U.S. Air Force Retired, Vietnam Veteran age 83, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Wednesday, the 24th of March 2021 at Dr. Armando L. Garcia Medical Center, Angeles City.
"Smooth" was a benevolent man, staunch and dedicated to helping others. He was very active with the Veteran community in Angeles City and held various officer positions, to include the following:
*Past Post Commander of VFW Post 2485 and Legacy Life Member of VFW Post 2485
*Past Chaplain of VFW Post 2485 and member of the Honor Guard
*Past Mighty Pinatubo Pup Tent 15 Seam Squirrel
*Past Post Commander of American Legion Post 123
*Past Commander DAV Chapter 3 and Life Member of the DAV
*VVA Chapter 887 Treasurer and Life Member
*Past President (Beagle #1) Beagles Organization.
Per the family's instructions, the fallen Comrade was cremated on Wednesday the 24th of March 2021 and will lay in repose at his families home. The rendering of full Military Honors at Clark Veterans Cemetery will be conducted at a later date, to be announced, after the current strict restrictions on public gatherings is lifted. Lafayette "Smooth" Donaldson left a lasting impression on many and will be surely missed.
