Victor E. Abbruzzese, 84, passed away suddenly at home Monday, October 21, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne L. (McElvain) Abbruzzese. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mariannina (Mazzarella) Abbruzzese. Mr. Abbruzzese was a home builder for the former Abbruzzi Builders and owner and administrator of the former Diamond Hill Nursing Center. He was an army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Elks Lodge #2359 for 43 years and lived in Johnston for 40 years before moving to Glocester in 2006. Besides his wife, he was the father of Robert Abbruzzese, Sr. and his wife Patricia of W. Warwick, Sharon Raso and her husband Anthony of Glocester and the late Eugene and Gary Abbruzzese. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Robert Abbruzzese, Jr., Richard Abbruzzese, Melanie Abbruzzese, Zachery Raso and Nicholas Raso and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Anthony Abbruzzi, Celia Pacheco, Anna DiMauro and the late Josephine Betts, Salvatore and Joseph Abbruzzese and Eugene Abbruzzi. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:45am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston at 10am. Burial will be private.
