Lillian Frances "Fran" Drake, 82, of Metairie, LA, peacefully passed away the evening of August 5, 2021, with her daughters by her side. Fran was born on July 24, 1939, to Benjamin and Augusta Fite in Arkadelphia, AR. Those that have gone before are welcoming a true angel and those that remain here will miss her deeply. Fran's greatest love was her family but always had room in her heart for anyone who was lucky enough to know her. Her house was always a home where any and all were welcomed as family.
Her love and laughter were infectious which was cherished by all who knew her. She had a fierce passion in her for family, her church, her Heavenly Father, and her Savior Jesus Christ. We are grateful for every moment we had with her on earth but know we will meet again in heaven someday. Fran is preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Drake, Sr; her son, Robert Drake, Jr., as well as her brothers, Willis Fite, Clarence Fite, Alvin Fite, Derrell Fite, Hilliard Fite, Roy Fite; her sisters, Hazel Holt, Marcella Ross, and Marie Lafayette.
She is survived by her beloved children, son Timothy Drake (Victoria); daughters Tammy Donovan (Harold) and Deborah Drake; daughter-in-law, Patrice Drake her sister, Martha Helvering (David); her brothers, Ronnie Fite (Marie) and Marvin Fite (Deborah). She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
There will be a private viewing for family at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal St., New Orleans, La on Thursday, August 12th, from 6 to 7:30 pm.
Interment will be at Round Hill Cemetery, Malvern, AR, on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10 am.
In lieu of flowers donations to The American Heart Association in memory of Robert Drake, Jr. is preferred.
