Obituary
The spirit of the sixth child of Hattie Box Murchison and John Smith Murchison, William Rucker Murchison, age 90, peacefully left this Earth on August 1, 2021. He was known as Bill to most but was "Billy" to those from his birthplace of Crockett, Texas.

Bill was a jack of many trades, a preacher, a teacher, and – his true calling – a professional photographer. Many of his artistic photographs have been acclaimed by his fellow professionals, and all have been enjoyed by family, friends, and acquaintances. Most recently he ministered to many in the Unitarian Universalist faith.

Bill was preceded by his daughter, the Princess, Linda Lee Murchison. He is survived by sons Adlai Rucker Murchison and William Vincent Murchison; and grandsons Mac Thompson Murchison and Smith William Murchison. The last of his generation, he enjoyed – really enjoyed – the love and adoration of countless nieces, nephews, cousins, second cousins, and all the descendants of his siblings, along with their loved ones.

Bill recently told Vince that "I've had a good life. I got to do all the things I wanted, and that's good."

Graveside services for William Rucker Murchison will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 in the Glenwood Cemetery with Dr. Tim Allen officiating.
