Ruth Elizabeth (Wray) Fowler, 99, of Walsh passed away September 23, 2014.

Services will be Thursday, September 25th, 10:00 am at the Church of Christ Building in Walsh. Burial will be in the Dunkard Cemetery, Midway CO.

Ruth was born September 3, 1915, in Lamport, CO to Mary Elizabeth and Johnny Daniel Wray. The oldest of 5, she helped take care of her sisters, Etta, Martha, Laura & Marie. She lived in the Walsh area most of her life.

She married Elmer Fowler on June 17, 1937, in Johnson, KS. They had 3 children, Ruth Marilyn, Retha Lee and Elmer Laverne "Bud".

Ruth worked at Schooleys Grocery until 1968 when she went to work for the newly opened Walsh District Hospital. After retiring from the hospital, she spent her time enjoying her cherished family and friends. She had a passion for photography and a great sense of humor. She will be forever missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Wray, sisters Etta Baker, Martha Renicker, Marie Burnett, and her son Laverne "Bud" Fowler.

Survivors include her daughters & sons-in-law, Marilyn and Kent Hetrick of Walsh, CO and Retha and Sandy Ochoa of Alamogordo, NM. Her grandchildren Phillip & Alicia Hetrick, Betty Hetrick, Randy & Teri Hetrick, Eldon & Lorinda Hetrick, Neil Ochoa, Craig Ochoa, Sandy & Jennifer Ochoa, Tracy & Francis Ochoa, Justin & Julie Ochoa, Felicity (Ochoa) & James Lueras, Michelle (Fowler) & Jaime Duran, 14 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren , her sister Laura Wray Streeter, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
